and Rajya sabha members are elected by the members of legislative assembly from the respective states. As on date, India has 543 Lok sabha seats and 245 Rajya Sabha

As mentioned above, we have 543 Lok Sabha Seats for all states and 412 Lok sabha seats in General category (Anyone can compete in the elections irrespective of
caste / community), 84 Seats are reserved for Scheduled caste community and 47 Lok sabha Constituencies reserved for Scheduled Tribe.
MLA is a Member of legislative Assembly, who is the elected representative to the legislature of State government.
MLA is elected by the voters from the respective electoral constituency for the period of 5 Years.
